Jane Finch Community Legal Services’ 25th Anniversary was held on September 20, 2006. More than 120 supporters filled the Northwood Community Centre for speeches, food and entertainment.

Several current and past Jane Finch Community Legal Services (JFCLS) board members, staff, clients, and members of the community attended. 

Janet Leiper, Chair of Legal Aid Ontario was on hand to speak about Volunteerism as well as handing out awards of service to members of JFCLS’ Board of Directors. She also presented a certificate of appreciation and congratulations to the clinic. The Honourable R. Roy McMurtry attended and gave a great speech on Access to Justice.

On behalf of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario, The Honourable Monte Kwinter, Minister of Community Safety and Correctional Services, extended congratulations to the Clinic and commended the Clinic for its efforts to ensure society’s most vulnerable people have access to exceptional legal services. A Congratulatory message was also received from the Honourable Judy Sgro, MP for York West.

Jacqueline Brock,  Office Manager, was honoured for 25 years of service to the Clinic.

Inspiration behind her logo:

I chose this design because it was different. The Mallet represents “legal”, “court” etc.   The quote “Justice is Served” represents that this clinic fights hard until justice is served for those that deserve it.  The person at the bottom holding the earth shows that you guys care for everyone and are not going to turn anyone down.
